Remy was born and raised in Anistar City. His family was known for their musical career throughout Kalos. His mother played the violin, his father the cello and his brother the piano. Remy himself never aspired to have much to do with music and thus his family expected of him to be the best at everything else. This put an extreme amount of stress and pressure on him since a young age. He was home schooled up to age twelve until he was sent to a private school. Despite the pressure to succeed at nearly everything he never hated his parents for it. Instead he saw it as a guideline for himself. It made him very ambitious but also kind of a perfectionist. He began to strive for the highest grades in high school and quickly stopped caring about his friends. They did not like it and confronted him about it one day which ended in a heated fight. Instead of himself Remy blamed them for being too stupid to understand that grades and knowledge was far more important than friendships. In the end, friendships would fade where knowledge would not. At least, that was how Remy saw it. This made his high school career a very lonely one. He would get bullied often but he stood up for himself and cared little for it. Nothing else really mattered to him at this point other than getting the best results in class. By the end of the last year he truly had no friends left but he did have the best grades of his class. His parents were proud of him and rewarded him with a pokémon. It was a Mudkip. At first, Remy wasn't that impressed with the creature. He took care for it but never really tried to bond with it. Despite his cool attitude towards the Mudkip, the Mudkip was determent to bond with the boy. After a while Remy began to notice that the company of the Mudkip wasn't so bad after all. He learned to appreciate him being there and keeping him company when he studied. He even dared to call him a friend. Remy learned about coordinating trough a festival that was in town the night of his graduation. Feeling somewhat empty without things to study and learn he attended the festival. He saw a whole different perspective of using pokémon other than winning badges and becoming strong. His interest was sparked but he realized soon his Mudkip wasn't exactly show material. He wanted to give it a shot and asked his mother if he could borrow her Sylveon. Somewhat unsure of the situation he signed up for a beginners contest. He ended up coming in last but he enjoyed it nevertheless. He told his family about his idea to become coordinator. Though a little skeptical they saw there could be potential in it for him and his family name. They also found it to be compatible with his lifestyle. If he wanted to have a successful career he could easily combine his coordinator lifestyle wish his regular lifestyle. This partly became the reason Remy also wanted it. He also began to take his second name as his first name when performing or introducing himself to new people. Only his family calls him Norwin.
